LMUD’s celebration of Public Power continues Wednesday with Breakfast with LMUD

The Lassen Municipal Utility District’s celebration of Public Power began Friday, Oct. 6 with Food Truck Friday at the parking lot of the new LMUD building on Main and Gay streets.

Theresa Phillips, LMUD’s public relations manager said the event attracted about 200 who mostly trickled through the evening. LMUD was able to enroll approximately 25 families in its winter energy assistance program. The program’s enrollment is open through April 2024.

Next up is Breakfast with LMUD from 6 to 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11. LMUD and Susanville Supermarket will team up to serve the “World’s Best Donuts” and coffee.

A reception at the Lassen County Arts Council for Ruralite photo contest winners follows from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.

“This year, we are focusing on how LMUD is building for the future to ensure reliable, affordable, sustainable and customer-focused service to our community for many years to come,” said Nick Dominguez, business manager.

“That means we’re working hand-in-hand with customers and community leaders to make sure our utility reflects the long-term goals and needs of members of our community.

“Since we operate right here in Lassen County and serve our friends and neighbors, we care a great deal about things like customer service, helping folks save energy and money, providing reliable service, and keeping the community safe,” said Dominguez. “We are proud of the work we do in these areas.
