Mary Louise Reed

Mary Louise Reed, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully June 28, 2024, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, at the age of 97. She was born on Nov. 11, 1926, in Springfield, Missouri, to her parents Jack (Red) McBride and Mae Reed.

Mary was married to Elmer Odell Reed, and together they raised a loving family. She was the devoted mother of five children: Terry Reed, Danny Reed, Linda Brazil, Shirley Reed, and Darrell Reed. Her family was her pride and joy, and she spent her years nurturing and supporting them.

In her lifetime, Mary moved to California around 1944, where she lived in various locations, including Visalia in Central California, the Fort Bragg area, and Westwood, where she primarily raised her family. She also enjoyed time in Georgia with her children and in Oregon with her sister. Though a little-known fact, Mary had a passion for boating on the lakes.

Mary was one of seven siblings. She is survived by her sister, Donna Dennis. She was preceded in death by her siblings Margie Avila, Norma Stephens, Catherine Sunderland, Glenn (Sam) McBride, and Barbara Lamb. Her legacy lives on in her remaining son, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.

A service will be held to honor Mary’s life at the Chester Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6, at with a reception to be held directly after at Buffalo Chips in Westwood.
