More glad we could help

Publisher’s note: Evert Lindquist, who asked Lassen News for help finding information about his family, sent us this update.

Really thanks so much … I’ve since gotten even further, with the Genealogical Society of Siskiyou County pulling up dozens of photos, articles and census reports that have helped me retrace my family to my great-great-grandfather’s origins in Sweden.

It’s heartwarming experiencing so much interest and support from all your communities in this search, especially as my family has so few records of this history themselves and the only member who has extensive knowledge unfortunately never communicates.

Nevertheless, I look forward to paying a visit to Sweden in the coming years to reforge my family’s ancestral connection.

The next step for me is reaching out to the community there for assistance with my great-great-grandfather’s local family records.

It definitely made me smile seeing Sam share my gratitude to the Lassen community, so all my thanks for passing those remarks along too!

I’ll certainly circle back to you both down the road with whatever the end result of all this becomes, and I of course look forward to getting back to my family’s Warner Creek cabin (unscathed by the Dixie Fire) in these years to come.
