Norma Alice Gilmore

Norma Alice Gilmore, age 98 passed away peacefully in Citrus Heights CA on March 19,
2025.

Norma was born in Seattle, WA on June 26, 1926. She moved to Glendale CA where
she met her future husband Irv Gilmore while in high school. They married on January 13,
1945, after his return from the Pacific theater in World War II. Shortly after Irv was
discharged from the United States Navy, they moved to San Diego CA where they had their
first daughter Patricia. The next move was to Susanville CA in 1947 where they had two
more children, Elizabeth and William. Norma and Irv moved from Susanville to the US
Virgin Islands in 1971 and ultimately retired in Hidden Valley Lake CA in 1983.

Irv and Norma were outdoor enthusiasts and spent many happy years together fishing, camping,
hiking, sailing the Caribbean, and hiking to the top of Mt Whitney at the age of 68. Norma
was an accomplished artist and cook and even earned her private pilot’s license. She had
one grandchild, Charlotte and one great grandchild Kaylee, though through marriage she
also had another 5 granddaughters, 9 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

She will be interned next to her husband Irv and daughter Patricia in Janesville, CA in July of
this year, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband Irv in 2012 and her oldest
daughter Patricia in 2015.

Norma had an amazing life and will be dearly missed by her
family.
