Police put grant funding to good use

The Susanville Police Department conducted saturated patrols throughout town on Tuesday, Dec. 14 as a part of the Office of Traffic Safety grant in an effort to make our community a safer place for pedestrians and drivers alike.

The patrols lasted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. focusing on distracted driving as well as violations involving primary collision factors.

This operation resulted in 14 traffic stops, with seven citations being issued for various violations. Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety.
