The Susanville Fire Department released information regarding a vegetation fire along the Susan River yesterday.
According to a statement from the SFD, the department responded to a vegetation fire along the Susan River near Riverside Drive bridge about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Upon arrival at the scene firefighters acted swiftly to contain the fire and thanks to their coordinated efforts, the fire was brought under control and extinguished quickly.
The fire was believed to have started in one of the encampments in the area and is currently under investigation.
The Susanville Fire Department thanks CalFire, the CDCR Fire Department, the Janesville Fire Protection District, the Susanville Police Department, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, and LMUD for their quick response to the incident.
