Rotary thanks community for its support of National Senior Citizens Day
According to a statement from the Rotary Club of Susanville, “As the Rotary Club of Susanville celebrates its 100th year, community groups have come forward to support one of our most heartfelt initiatives — honor our seniors on National Senior Citizens Day in mid-August.
“We’re grateful for the enthusiastic participation of such a diverse group of partners, including High Desert State Prison, Grocery Outlet, Plumas Bank, IGA, Morning Flory, Dollar Tree WalMart and the Milwood Florist and Pet Store. Cultural and community organizations such as the local symphony, theatre, museum, LLTT and Pizza Factory are also joining the effort. We extend special thanks to individuals such as Laura Roberts who donated handmade scarves and lap robes — along with many others.
“Together, we share a deep appreciation for the seniors in and around our community. We also recognize the importance of helping them stay connected through group activities that reduce isolation and build lasting bonds.
“:While the Rotary Club of Susanville — with the generous support of our partners — has funded much of the meals and gifts for Senior Citizens Day, additional contributions are always welcome. Every donation helps ensure the success of this year’s event and builds momentum for an even stronger celebration in Rotary’s 101st year.
