Seneca Healthcare District announces updated board of directors positions  

Seneca Healthcare District announces the recent changes to its board of directors, effective as of the January Regular Board Meeting held Jan. 30, 2025.

These changes reflect the board’s ongoing commitment to strong leadership and effective governance, as they lead the organization in its mission to provide exceptional healthcare services to the community.

The Board of Directors includes
Jerri Nielsen, President: Nielsen brings extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to community health. As president, she guides the board in strategic decision-making and governance. She is also a volunteer on the new build team.

Shelley Stelzner, Vice President: With a strong background in healthcare administration, Stelzner supports the president and helps drive initiatives that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Rich Rydell, Treasurer: Rydell ‘s financial, technological and healthcare expertise are instrumental in overseeing the district’s financial health and ensuring responsible fiscal management. He is also a volunteer on the new build team.

Sherrie Thrall, Assistant Treasurer/Secretary: Thrall assists in financial oversight and administrative duties, contributing her governmental experience and organizational skills.

Ken Crandall, Secretary: Crandall overseas the board’s documentation and communications, ensuring transparency and effective information flow.

The Seneca Healthcare District Board is subject to the Brown Act.

This board has been instrumental in guiding the district through its efforts to build a new hospital.

One of their recent achievements includes the approval of the official name for the new hospital, Lake Almanor Community Hospital, which aligns with the district’s strategic goals and better connects the communities served throughout the Lake Almanor Basin.

These changes are part of Seneca Healthcare District’s continuous efforts to enhance its leadership team and ensure the highest standards of healthcare governance. The board is confident that these new appointments will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to the organization.

Board meetings for Seneca Healthcare District take place at 3 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted. The meetings are held in the conference room at the Lake Almanor Clinic on 199 Reynolds Road in Chester. All meetings are open to the public, and we encourage the public to attend. There is also the option to attend virtually on our website at senecahospital.org/agenda.
