SPD reports shoplifting investigation leads to two arrests, recovery of stolen items

On June 20, 2026, officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to a shoplifting incident at Walmart in Susanville.

A female suspect was identified through surveillance footage, and an investigation was opened.

On June 23, 2026, officers responded to a separate shoplifting report at Ace Hardware. Surveillance footage showed a male and female suspect, and officers determined that the female was the same person allegedly involved in the prior Walmart theft.

Officers successfully located where the two unhoused suspects were staying, their identities were confirmed with the surveillance footage.

As a result of the investigation, the two suspects were arrested today on charges related to grand theft and conspiracy.

The individuals were identified as Kristina Lee, 36, and Tyler Pomelow, 28.

Both suspects were booked into the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility. A significant portion of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the merchants.

The Susanville Police Department would like to thank Walmart and Ace Hardware for promptly reporting the crimes and their assistance throughout these investigations.
