Johnston has made it a priority during his career to find impaired drivers and remove them from our roadways before they can hurt themselves or others.
In fact, this is his fifth MADD award and the first for a Susanville Police Officer.
According to a Facebook post, the city of Susanville would like to recognize Sergeant Johnston for recently receiving the Mothers Against Drunk Drivers award this year. Sergeant Johnston made 44 arrests for impaired driving in 2024.
