Rotary Club of Susanville celebrates 100 years
Big doings at Jensen Hall Wednesday, May 6 as the Rotary Club of Susanville celebrates its Centennial Gala.

Opening ceremonies included a performance by the Lassen High School Drumline, a presentation of the colors by the Lassen County 4-H Leaders, the Pledge of Allegiance led by retired General Richard Bendix and an invocation by pastor Terry Johnson.

Todd Eid, Ron Jarrell and Michael Kirack served as c-masters of ceremony; Carol Fontana offered a musical performance; and Jim Chapman shared the history of the club.
Several Rotary dignitaries made presentations and remarks including Rotary International Director Wyn Spiller; a video message by Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo; Rotary 5190 District Governor Larry Harvey; District Advisory Board Chair Dennis Geare; Fallon Rotary Club members Nancy Upham and Darrell Hook; and Rotary District 5190 Area Governor Area 1 Nancy Cameron.

Several government dignitaries also offered presentations and remarks including Assemblyman James Gallagher; former State Senator Brian Dahle (on behalf of his wife, Senator Megan Dahle); Teporaca Roadrunner (on behalf of Assemblymember Heather Hadwick); Lassen County Board of Supervisors Chairman Gary Bridges; and Susanville Mayor Mendy Schuster.

Eid offered the closing remarks, highlighting Rotary’s Four-Way Test (of the things we think, say or do): 1. Is it the TRUH? 2. If it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
