Please do not seek to perpetuate the torture of my mental ill stepson by keeping the medieval prisons open.
A better alternative would be to petition the governor to repurpose the prisons to become mental hospitals with gardens, coop work, comforts and therapy, as 2/3 of prisoners are mentally ill and not guilty except that there is no mental hospital for them to go to.
This would be more humane for our relatives and more humane for the people of Susanville to work as nurses and orderlies and therapists than as jailers and torturers of the innocent mental ill.
