The cast of last year’s Best of Broadway rock and roll show, Neon Mullet, gathers on stage for the finale. This year’s show — Iconic Songs That Made The Movies — performs at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Veterans Memorial Hall.

For the past few years, a few of the best singers and dancers from the Best of Broadway troupe take a quick break from rehearsals, shift gears away from the show tunes and team up with a local rock band to put on an honest-to-goodness live rock and roll show for the public to enjoy.

This year, the fourth, is no exception as cast members join local favorite Forgery to perform the Iconic Songs That Made The Movies show at 7 p.m. Friday Jan. 19 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Veterans Memorial Hall.

The Susanville City Kickettes will perform at this year’s Best of Broadway rock and roll show.

OK, in addition to great music and wonderful singers, the event also features fantastic dance performances by the Susanville City Kickettes and the House of Dance. And if you can believe one of those persistent stories percolating out there on the good old Susanville rumor mill, there may even be a twist competition where absolutely everyone in the hall can join the fun, jump out of their seats and show off their very best hip-bustin’ moves.

Another highlight is sure to be a performance of “That Old Time Rock and Roll” by Angelica House, 16, who brought down the house with a rousing rendition of “Dancing in the Streets,” at Best of Broadway a couple of years ago.

Forgery, one of Susanville’s most popular classic rock bands, is expected to play an even bigger role in this year’s show.
