CHP officers searching for drivers who tried to find their way around highway closure

According to a Facebook post by the California Highway Patrol, “We will always provide you with the safest and best alternate route when a highway is closed. Please don’t try to figure it out on your own. Our officers are now spending time searching the desert to try to rescue a few different drivers who tried their own routes off of Highway 395 and are now stuck or lost. Always check CHP and Caltrans pages for alternate routes and road information.”
