In loving memory of Leta Elanore Jackson who resided in Susanville, California.
We are saddened to announce the passing of Leta on the 18th of December 2022, at the age of 89, while residing with her daughter in Jerome, Idaho. Leta passed peacefully from natural causes with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Jackson Jr., son Rodney Jackson and three grandchildren.
Leta was born in March of 1933 in Brookings, Oregon, to Frank and Manilla Hassest. She was the youngest of eight children. Leta graduated from Brookings High School in 1950. In 1950 she was also crowned the Azalea Queen at the local lilly festival. Leta wed her husband Edward in 1950 and went on to have 4 beautiful children. Leta had a special place in her heart for young children and spent many years of her life providing care for them in her home in Susanville, Ca. She was an avid doll collector with a love for flowers and birds.
Leta is survived by her sister, June Juelson; three daughters, Cheryl Perkins, Diane (Rocky) Nelson and Debbie (John) Bullock; daughter in-law Pamela Jackson-Hunt; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy will live on forever.
A celebration of life will be held in March of 2023 in Susanville Ca. in honor of what would have been her 90th Birthday.
