NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A MITIGATED NEGATIVE
DECLARATION
FOR THE
GENESEE VALLEY WATERSHED IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
NOTICE is given that a Mitigated Negative Declaration has been prepared setting forth the findings that the following proposed action, Genesee Valley Watershed Improvement Project, will have a less than significant adverse effect on the environment. The project area is located between 4 and 11 miles east of Taylorsville, CA on public and private lands and includes proposed treatments in each of these areas: Township 25N Range 11 E Sect. 5-8; Township 25 N Range 11 E Sect. 2-3 and Township 26 N Range 11 E Sect. 34-35; Township 25 N Range 11 E Sect. 1, 11-12. USGS 7.5 quads Genesee and Taylorsville. Mount Diablo Base Meridian (MDBM). Proposed treatments are hand-thin up to 10 inches DBH, pile, pile burn, and broadcast burn up to 839 acres.
This document is proposed to be adopted and has been filed with the Feather River Resource Conservation District (RCD). It is now available for inspection and review at the Feather River RCD office, 159 Lawrence St. Quincy, CA and online at www.frrcd.org/resources. The 30-day review period for this Mitigated Negative Declaration is from February 13, 2019 through March 15, 2019. Written comments concerning this document will be accepted through the last day of the review period. Public comments regarding the correctness, completeness, or adequacy of this Mitigated Negative Declaration are invited. Such comments should be based on specific environmental concerns. Comments supporting specific goals and actions proposed under this project are also welcome. Any comments on the Mitigated Negative Declaration/ Initial Study must be received at the above FRRCD address or email below within the public review period.
